The 2014/2015 UEFA Youth League final was played against Chelsea on April 12th 2015 in Nyon, Switzerland, at Colovray Stadium where Chelsea too the title after 3-2 win. En route to the final Shakhtar eliminated Olimpiakos, Benfica and Anderlecht in the semi-finals. This feat is all the more remarkable as it happens in the year in which social and political conflict in the region forced the Shakhtar Donetsk Academy to relocate from to Poltava, away from its facilities and better conditions. Notable work of young players with some of them later integrating the squad Shakhtar Donetsk 1st team, such as Viktor Kovalenko, Oleksandr Zubkov, Mykola Matvienko, Oleg Kudrik and Andrey Boryachuk.
